The Buffalo Trace Antique Collection is one of the most highly anticipated annual releases with good reason. The 2021 release of Sazerac 18 Year Old Rye marks a return to form for the annual expression. Distilled in 2003 from Minnesota rye, Kentucky corn, and North Dakota malted barley, the sour-batch whiskey spent 18 years and 6 months in new American white oak casks (no.4 char) sourced from Independent Stave in Lebanon, KY. It was finally bottled in 2021 at 90 proof, making for a mature and flavor-packed expression with notes of apple, herbs, anise, maple syrup, cocoa, coffee, and dates. The expression pays tribute to the Sazerac Coffee House that gained fame for creating the Sazerac cocktail.

Tasting Notes
The nose is bright and fruity with apple, honey, oak, and herbal aromas. Look for maple syrup, toasted oak, and anise on the complex palate that leads to a long finish with coffee, cocoa, spice, and dates.
